This class will explore the efficient usage of the body and its technique to achieve greater performance quality. A repertory/combination will be taught in the second half of the class.

Choreography & the Creative Process

• Sunday, October 21 | 1:15-2:45pm | Culbreth Stage

This class will investigate the different choreographic devices to create various possibilities, based on one movement phrase. Students will prepare a short movement phase to be developed, deconstructed or experimented with during class.

Learn more about Chien-Ying Wang’s work and trajectory as an artist over a slice of pizza!

Chien-Ying Wang hails from Taiwan and received her MFA degree in dance from The Ohio State University, BFA degree from Northern Illinois University, and AA degree from National Taiwan Academy of Arts. She was a soloist with Repertory Dance Theatre in Utah from 2002-07. Before coming to the University State, she danced professionally with Taipei Ballet Company and Joy Dance Company.
