WTJU 91.1 FM, IX Art Park, and Lifeview Marketing present the third annual Charlottesville-Albemarle Black Business Expo – Saturday, September 14, 1 – 9 p.m. at the IX Art Park, 522 2nd Street SE in Charlottesville.

The Black Business Expo supports and celebrates local black-owned businesses. It is a FREE event designed to celebrate and encourage the success of black-owned businesses locally and beyond.

Business owners and managers are invited to attend business workshops from 2 – 5 p.m. and a business pitch competition at 5 p.m., as well as an expo open to everyone from 1 – 9 p.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with black business owners, learn more, and even purchase goods and services.

“These business owners are part of the bedrock of our local economy, and I hope that a lot of folks will come check them out,” said Nathan Moore, WTJU General Manager. “Attendance at the Black Business Expo is not limited to people who are African-American – everyone is warmly invited to attend this public expo.”

The Black Business Expo on September 14 coincides with the Freefall Music & Art Festival, presented by WTJU 91.1 FM and IX Art Park. Live musical entertainment will include blues/reggae artist Corey Harris, starting at 6:45 p.m.

“Corey Harris mixes a wide variety of influences into his richly expressive music – from New Orleans to the Caribbean to Africa.” said Moore.

Business owners can still register for the Black Business Expo. Email [email protected] with questions or to reserve a booth.

The Black Business Expo is sponsored by WTJU 91.1 FM, IX Art Park, Lifeview Marketing, UVA’s Office of Diversity & Equity, Community Investment Collaborative, and more.
