Charlottesville Symphony, Music

Charlottesville, VA — The Charlottesville Symphony returns to The Paramount Theater’s stage on Saturday, June 2, at 7:30PM for Pops at The Paramount – The Best of John Williams. From a galaxy far, far away to the magical school of Hogwarts, composer John Williams’ legendary film scores have accompanied moviegoers on epic journeys for decades.

Music Director Benjamin Rous leads the orchestra in music from the Star Wars series (including one of the first performances anywhere of music from The Last Jedi), Harry Potter, E.T., Jaws, Superman, Lincoln and more. All music will be performed in the exact versions from the films.

Wegmans is the corporate sponsor of Pops at the Paramount for the third consecutive year. Additional sponsors are Roger and Donna Authers and the Paramount Theater. The Joseph and Robert Cornell Memorial Foundation is the lead sponsor of the orchestra’s entire 2017-18 season.

Tickets are priced at $27-$54, and may be purchased in person at The Paramount Theater Box Office from 10:00am-2:00pm, Monday-Friday, by calling (434) 979-1333 during those same hours or online at www.theparamount.net.

Now in its 43rd season, the Charlottesville Symphony at the University of Virginia is a blended ensemble of professional musicians, talented community members and UVA students from a wide variety of academic disciplines. It produces 15 Masterworks, Holiday, Youth and Pops concerts each season, and presents a variety of programs in K-12 schools across a six-county region.

All artists, programs and venues are subject to change.
