The Charlottesville Area Community Foundation invites local artists to visualize the challenges we face as a community. We are calling for artistic representations that speak to specific issues that shape our community. The art exhibit and opening reception will be held at Chalk, a pop-up boutique on the Downtown Mall.
Issue Examples
Climate change, food sustainability, mental health, economic disparity, animal welfare, maternal health, smart growth
Eligibility
Residents of Charlottesville and surrounding counties are encouraged to apply.
Eligible Media
Drawing, painting, mixed media, photography, sculpture, and film/video.
Submit
Each applicant may submit up to three images of one piece of finished creative work, and a short statement that must include dimensions, a brief description of their work and how it illustrates an issue the community faces. All submissions need to be ready to install/hang. Please include any equipment, technical, or hanging instructions with the application. Only one submission per artist will be considered. Support
Each artist chosen to exhibit will receive $100.
