Germantown newcomer and up-and-coming singer / songwriter, Brælyn, brings a soulful brilliance to intimate stages across the city. Originally from the red dirt roads of rural Virginia, her farm-raised vocal trills, whistles and deep-rooted jazz riffs, remind listeners of a simpler, slower time.

With the February 29, 2020 release of her first EP “In Between” Brælyn explores the tender space of life’s transitions — the times that try our souls, bringing us to thresholds of better knowing and of being known.

This past year Brælyn honed her audience and her craft at a handful of public and private venues, such as Bourbon & Branch, Fergie’s Pub, Germantown Espresso, and East Falls Beer Garden. She has been touring the city with friends and fellow artists among the likes of Zach Winters, Divine Lorraine, Nine & One Half, Alisa Granada and The Burgeoning. With an EP in hand, thoughtfully recorded and produced by native Philadelphian Mark Menk, housed under his label 436 Records, she can safely say she does not go this journey alone.

Reminiscent of Joan Biez, Corinne Bailey Rae and Norah Jones, Brælyn captivates audiences with her spacious sound, stripped down instrumentation, and her humble, alluring presence. Find a seat up front in one of her upcoming shows or simply click the link for a listen.
