The McIntire Department of Music, the McIntire Department of Art, the Department of Drama, UVA Arts & the Vice Provost for the Arts, and the Office of the Dean of Students present an opportunity to engage in the art community on Grounds and have a voice in bringing creative professionals from across varying disciplines to UVA over the next three years. The Arts Board is currently seeking students to engage with the arts community on Grounds through a leadership opportunity to shape what artistic programming comes to our University.

What is the Arts Board?
The Arts Board of the University of Virginia is a student-run board whose mission is to present an outstanding artist, performance, and/or exhibition each year in a three-year rotation that includes music, visual arts, and drama. The program was created to make art an accessible experience for all students across the University regardless of their department/major. Its purpose is three-fold: to produce an arts event that will raise awareness of the arts and be an event that will have an impact on the student body, to involve students in the presentation and administration of a national/international-scale arts event and residency and to provide an opportunity for students to interact with the arts in a tangible learning experience.

Past Residencies
Previous residencies have included Grammy Award Winning Producer 9th Wonder, international performance artist Alicia Grullón, documentary photographer and photojournalist Ézé Amos, and many others. A full list of past residencies can be found here >

Why Should I Get Involved?
The Arts Board is currently seeking students from across all disciplines and majors on Grounds to participate in shaping the conversation around the arts at the University. The Arts Board allows for collaboration across departments, strong learning opportunities in the areas of event planning and arts administration, and the ability to engage with peers from other departments. The Arts Board is currently at a pivot point and seeking new leaders who are ready to commit to and engage with developing a strong vision for accessibility, dialogue and collaboration within the arts at UVA.
