Internships are work experiences that allow you to gain practical skills and knowledge in a specific career field. Internships at U.Va. can be paid or unpaid, for academic credit or no credit. They can take place at any point in the semester, but are most often completed during the summer. Internships can be part of your first or second year experience at U.Va. although some industries and employers may have preferences for third year students due a desire for greater coursework depth in specific majors.
